My Salvation Story: From Living in Between to Living with Purpose

I grew up going to church thanks to my mum’s strong influence. She made sure we were always there, and although I knew about God, I didn’t have a personal relationship with Him. Church was something I did because I was told to, not because I truly sought Him out for myself.

Looking back, I was never really a child of the world, but I also wasn’t fully living for God. I was in that grey area, somewhere in between. I went to church, but I also spent time with friends who had different lifestyles. I was into reading books, watching TV and movies, and I never got involved with things like alcohol or late-night partying. But I was friends with people who did all those things, and it created a strange balance in my life. I didn’t feel lost, but I also didn’t feel whole.

When I moved out of my parents’ house, things shifted. I stopped going to church. I got busy with work and living on my own, trying to figure things out. For a while, life was just… life. I wasn’t actively seeking God, and yet, something always felt missing. I was living, but I wasn’t fulfilled. I kept feeling a longing inside, a need for something deeper.

The Turning Point: Reaching Out for God Again

It wasn’t until I hit a rough patch at work and was contemplating changing jobs that I realized I needed more than just a change of environment I needed a change in my relationship with God. I decided to pursue Him again.

I joined a church, and something began to stir in my heart as I found a community that supported me in my journey. I dove deep into the Word of God, and for the first time, I wasn’t just reading for knowledge I was reading to know God. My prayer during this time was simple but profound: “God, talk to me. Help me know You more. And please, help me with my job situation.”

As I sought God, I began to uncover a wealth of truth. I discovered so much about His love, His plans, and His faithfulness. It was like opening the door to a room I didn’t even know existed, a room filled with peace, joy, and wisdom that came only from Him.

Not long after I made the decision to commit to God more fully, things at work began to get messy. I found myself in a position where I had to quit. It was terrifying. I had put my trust in God, but I couldn’t see the outcome yet. All I knew was that I had to follow what I believed God was calling me to do. So, I walked away from a job that wasn’t serving me anymore, trusting that God had a plan.

Just two weeks later, God came through in a way I never could have imagined. I landed a new job that was everything I had prayed for and more. It was beyond anything I could have hoped for in my own strength. Looking back, I am certain that was God’s hand guiding me every step of the way. It’s moments like those that remind me why I need Him, His faithfulness and provision are real, and He always comes through.

The Ongoing Journey: Living in His Purpose

Since then, my faith has continued to grow. I’ve come to realize that salvation is not just a one-time event, but a continual journey. As I continue to walk with God, I’m constantly learning more about Him and myself. There have been ups and downs, but every challenge has been an opportunity to trust Him more. He is teaching me patience, perseverance, and the joy of relying fully on Him.

I now look at life differently. My purpose is clearer, and the fulfillment I once searched for in other things is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. I’m not perfect, and I still face challenges, but I know now that I’m never alone in this walk.

I share this story with you because I want you to know that no matter where you are in life whether you’ve known God for years or have never really pursued a personal relationship with Him, you are never too far from His love. Just like I was able to experience God’s transformative power, I believe that you can too.

If you’re feeling empty, uncertain, or stuck, I encourage you to reach out to God. Seek Him with all your heart, and trust that He will meet you exactly where you are. I promise you His faithfulness and love are real, and He is ready to lead you into a life full of purpose, peace, and fulfillment.
